Es lohnt sich bestimmt, wenn ihr euch eine kleine Pause f\u00fcr eine F\u00fchrung in Marostica<\/strong> g\u00f6nnt. Marostica <\/strong>ist eine malerische Kleinstadt rund 30 Kilometer n\u00f6rdlich von Vicenza und am Fu\u00df des Monte Pausolino. Wie Asolo wurde sie von dem Italienischen Tourismusverband als eine der besten Ortschaften Italiens anerkannt.<\/p>\n

Die Altstadt ist g\u00e4nzlich von einer kilometerlangen Stadtmauer aus der Skaligerzeit umgeben und damit unverwechselbar. Bei der F\u00fchrung in Marostica<\/strong> wird euch sofort auffallen, dass mehr als zwanzig Wehrt\u00fcrme den Mauerlauf unterbrechen, der vom Stadttor Porta Vicentina bis zum Castello Superiore auf der H\u00fcgelspitze f\u00fchrt. Das Castello Superiore kr\u00f6nt mit seinen Zinnen Marostica<\/strong> zu der wohl sch\u00f6nsten Festungsstadt der Region.<\/p>\n

Eigentlich ist Marostica<\/strong> f\u00fcr das Schachsspiel mit Menschen in historischen Kost\u00fcmen des 15. Jh. als Schachfiguren landesweit ber\u00fchmt. Das Schachpiel, das Anfang September nur in geraden Jahren auf dem stimmungsvollen Piazza Castello stattfindet, weist auf das hin, was tats\u00e4chlich 1454 gespielt wurde. Damals forderten sich zwei Adligen heraus, um die Tochter des venezianischen B\u00fcrgermeisters heiraten zu d\u00fcrfen.<\/p>\n

Vom Castello Inferiore, das unter den Venezianern der B\u00fcrgermeistersitz war, ist es m\u00f6glich, durch einen Fu\u00dfpfad die H\u00fcgelspitze zu erreichen. Wenn man nicht so sportlich ist, kann man trotzdem von Porta Breganze zum Castello Superiore hinauffahren.<\/p>\n

Durch einen gem\u00fctlichen Spaziergang im noch mittelalterlich aussehenden Stadtkern werden wir die bekanntesten Attraktionen der Stadt bewundern und kennenlernen, wie zum Beispiel das Castello Inferiore auf dem schicken Piazza Castello. Auf den Platz, der von dem riesigen, aus dem Marmor des Ortes geschaffenen Schachbrett gekennzeichnet ist, blicken elegante Pal\u00e4ste, u.a. der Doglione Palast, der das Kanzleramt der Venezianer beherbergt. Zum Schluss gehen wir durch die Hauptstra\u00dfe Via Mazzini und treffen uns auf der kleinen Chiesa di Sant Antonio, die die einzige Kirche war, die innerhalb des Mauerkreises in der Skaligerzeit lag.<\/p>\n
