Die \u201eStadt der hundert Horizonte\u201c, so wird Asolo <\/strong>genannt. Sie ist ein reizvolles H\u00fcgelst\u00e4dtchen in \u00fcppig gr\u00fcner Umgebung und seit Jahrhunderten eine bevorzugte Sommerfrische f\u00fcr Weltbummler. Wie Marostica wurde sie vom italienischen Tourismusverband als eine der besten Ortschaften Italiens anerkannt. Bei einer F\u00fchrung in Asolo<\/strong> werdet euch sofort bemerken, dass das H\u00fcgelst\u00e4dtchen noch von dem mittelalterlichen Mauerring umgegeben ist. Die m\u00e4chtige Ruine der Rocca thront den Ort. Von der zentralen Piazza Garibaldi kann man zu den Ruinen der Rocca hinaufsteigen. Das kostet etwas Anstrengung, doch der Blick ist wundersch\u00f6n und reicht weit in die H\u00fcgel-und Berglandschaft und am klaren Tag in die Dogenstadt Venedig.<\/p>\n

Dutzende historischer Villen liegen im Umkreis und im Stadtkern, denn die sch\u00f6ne Lage und das milde Klima haben seit jeher k\u00fcnstlerischen Naturen angezogen.<\/p>\n

Tats\u00e4chlich geht die Geschichte von Asolo<\/strong> nicht besonders um Ereignisse, sondern um Menschen von Nah und Fern, die hergezogen sind, um Inspiration f\u00fcr ihre Werke zu finden und dadurch das Bild der Stadt unausl\u00f6schlich gepr\u00e4gt haben. W\u00e4hrend der Fr\u00fchrenaissance vereinte Caterina Cornaro, K\u00f6nigin des venezianisch besetzten Zypern, Literaten und K\u00fcnstler an ihren Hof. Im 19. Jh. bildete sich eine solche english-amerikanische Kulturgesellschaft, dank des englischen Dichters Robert Browning, der den Mythos von Asolo <\/strong>unter Kollegen und Freunden verbreitete. Auch die ber\u00fchmte Schauspielerin Eleonora Duse und die englische Schriftstellerin und Weltbummlerin Freya Stark, die den Ruhm der K\u00f6niginmutter von England bekannt gemacht hat, lebten in Asolo<\/strong>. \u00dcber dem Ort Asolo <\/strong>ist zudem ein wichtiges Weinzentrum und Sitz vieler Weing\u00fcter, in denen die Qualit\u00e4tsweine der Gegend, von Prosecco bis hin zum Merlot und Cabernet gekeltert werden.<\/p>\n
